WATERSIDE PLACE in Lakewood Ranch FLORIDA

Just down the road from Lakewood Ranch, Main Street we have Waterside Place. Schroeder-Manatee Ranch approaches the planned opening of Lakewood Ranch's $31.6 million restaurants and entertainment hub. They are also looking to have a soft opening in May of 2021….  They have yet to announce an anchor tenant restaurant but are super excited to complete the project that broke ground back in October of  2018. They see that Waterside place is estimated to have a number of tenants. Lakewood Ranch Commercial has announced 10 businesses and restaurants scheduled to open in the spring and Boylston said they have leased 12,000-square foot of office space. With COVID-19 vaccines now being provided for the public, Boylston said he expects rapid changes in 2021 as people begin to return to their normal lifestyles. Since the pandemic, Lakewood Ranch Communities and Lakewood Ranch Community activities have opened 23 new art and fitness programs. Some of those programs will be duplicated at Waterside Place while others might take a different form or be completely different than what already is offered. Waterside Place will have an 8-acre island park that will include a splash pad and sand volleyball courts. There will be open space for yoga, barre, concerts, cornhole, and a speaker series. Eventually, Waterside Place will have bike rentals and water taxi rides, all expected in 2021.

Venice Chalk Festival| April 9th-11th | Venice Municipal Airport 150 Airport Ave E, Venice, FL

The Chalk Festival is held every November at the Venice Airport Fairgrounds on the island of Venice, Florida, about half an hour from Sarasota. This four-day event gives everyone an opportunity to participate in this creative process. You can see the largest gathering of famous pavement artists and observe how they transform the road surface into a canvas-like masterpiece filled with chalk.

This art form appeared in Italy during the 16th century. Italian street artists “Madonnari,” have been creating their work since the Middle Ages and until World War II. In the 1970s that art was revived at the International Madonnari Festival in Grazie di Curtatone in Northern Italy.

From 2010, the Chalk Festival has featured the biggest number of 3D pavement paintings ever created in one location. The artists who create them invite visitors during the festival to step into their artwork, becoming a part of it. After six seasons in Sarasota, it moved to Venice, Florida. The festival attracts about 50,000 visitors every year.

National and local artists are set to display their fine works in a prestigious show encompassing life-sized sculpture, fine jewelry, striking works of art and hand-crafted apparel and decor. New Car Service Expands to Sarasota

JOHN ELSESER, CEO and founder of Executive Transportation, has been running a successful ground transportation business for over 20 years in Ohio, where his fleet was accustomed to driving athletes and celebrities to events and private parties or transporting executives to meetings and private airports daily. Arriving in Sarasota, however, Elseser saw a different need for his services.

An 85-year-old friend of his mother in Largo had expressed concerns about driving after she received the COVID-19 vaccine shot and asked his mom to drive her. Realizing that others, too, would like the reassurance of company and not having to drive themselves, he found a new customer. Passengers have responded positively, welcoming the assistance of a dedicated driver to bring them to and from their appointments. With so much uncertainty revolving around the vaccine process, Elseser has found that eliminating unnecessary stressors with traffic, parking, and directions has brought comfort to the senior client.

All Executive Transportation drivers are professional chauffeurs who have completed background checks and drug screening. The vehicles are cleaned and sanitized after each ride, and drivers are following all PPE requirements. Executive Transportation is dedicated to safety and offering the most personalized experience available. Geraldo Rivera, who also hails from Ohio, was one of John’s first Sarasota clients, saying, “Executive Transportation is my go-to car service whenever I’m down here in and around Sarasota. The cars are terrific and the drivers professional, courteous, and prompt. John’s team is the best around.”
