Across the country, homelessness continues to decline, especially among families with children, veterans, and individuals with disabling conditions. Since the launching of Opening Doors in 2010, there has been an estimated reduction of homelessness of families by 23 percent, veterans by 47 percent, and homeless individuals by 27 percent.
Florida had the largest decrease in homeless individuals in one year (2015-2016), down by 2,341 people, and the third largest drop between 2007-2016, down by 14,510 people.
